Rent Stars Anthony Rapp and Adam Pascal Plan Concert at Highline Ballroom

Original Rent stars Anthony Rapp and Adam Pascal are joining forces for a one-night concert event at Highline Ballroom in New York City on April 13. The show will feature Pascal's re-imagined renditions of Broadway songs like "Maria," "Sunday," and "What I Did For Love," as well as Rapp performing rock classics like "Creep" and "Losing My Religion.” 

Jonathan Larson’s Rent was a breakout show for both Pascal and Rapp; Pascal starred as HIV-positive rock guitarist Roger Davis and Rapp as filmmaker Mark Cohen. In 2005, both men reprised their roles in the movie version of the musical, and then returned to the Broadway production for a six-week run on July 30, 2007. In 2009, they reprised their roles one last time in Rent the Broadway Tour, which traveled all over the U.S. as well as Japan and South Korea.



Pascal currently stars as Huey Calhoun in the Tony Award-winning musical Memphis. His other Broadway credits include Elton John and Tim Rice’s Aida, in which he created the role of Radames, and the Broadway revival of Cabaret. He also starred alongside Josh Groban and Rent co-star Idina Menzel in a London concert staging of Chess at the Royal Albert Hall.

In additiont to Rent, 
Rapp’s other Broadway credits include Six Degrees of Separation and You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown. In 2009, Rapp produced Without You, a solo show based on his memoir of the same name which discussed Rent, the death of Jonathan Larson and the death of his mother. The show was presented at Joe’s Pub and the New York Musical Theatre Festival.

This is not the first time Rapp and Pascal teamed up in concert. In 2011 the longtime friends played together for a one-night only concert at Town Hall. The Highline Ballroom appearance will be followed by several other dates in East Coast cities including Syracuse, NY, Buffalo, NY and Wilmington, DE.
